Most probably your computer has got its dhcp disabled. So what you can do is right click on the tray icon whenever you are connected to a hot spot and click repair in xp or troubleshoot if its windows 7
That can depend. Sometimes, you need to open a browser, and agree to the TOS. Other times, there s a code that you need to enter.
Those are the only two things that I can think of. I have run into them both. But I will say that there have in the past been a few times that for some reason, I could not for the life if me connect. Sometime the router is offline too. That happened a few times at the coffee shop in the past. And they rebooted, and I was OK..

Whenever you connect to a hotspot a connection setting is required to be done. Just open internet explorer, go to tools-%26gt;internet connection and select connection tab.
