Why wont my laptop top connect to any public hotspots?

I have a Lenovo laptop, when at home it lets me connect to our internet but when I am at public wifi location, like an airport, Barns%26amp;Noble, or at the university I go to it doesnt let me connect, it lets me connect to the hotspot but it wont connect to the internet. Why wont my laptop top connect to any public hotspots?
Most probably your computer has got its dhcp disabled. So what you can do is right click on the tray icon whenever you are connected to a hot spot and click repair in xp or troubleshoot if its windows 7
That can depend. Sometimes, you need to open a browser, and agree to the TOS. Other times, there s a code that you need to enter.

Those are the only two things that I can think of. I have run into them both. But I will say that there have in the past been a few times that for some reason, I could not for the life if me connect. Sometime the router is offline too. That happened a few times at the coffee shop in the past. And they rebooted, and I was OK..

Also, are you selecting the hotspot in the network set up?Why wont my laptop top connect to any public hotspots?
Whenever you connect to a hotspot a connection setting is required to be done. Just open internet explorer, go to tools-%26gt;internet connection and select connection tab. Your hotspot connection name will be shown. Just select it and click settings. Check the "automatically detect settings" option and click ok.Why wont my laptop top connect to any public hotspots?
Maybe your antivirus or your firewall try to display it and conect again.
