Can you transfer money from from an e-nook gift card to a regular barns and nobles gift card?

I got a Nook color for christmas with a gift card for 50 dollars. However when ever I try to use it and buy a book online it doesn't work. So instead of wasting the 50 dollars I was wondering if I could just transfer the money to a normal gift card for barns and nobles. It would be a waste to never be able to use it and I don't see the harm. The store still gets the money, just in a different way. However I'm not sure if this is allowed. Can you transfer money from from an e-nook gift card to a regular barns and nobles gift card?
Hi, Kat, to use Gift Card for ebooks with Nook:

1. Save Gift Cards to your Account

Save Gift Cards, eGift Cards and Online Gift Certificates to your account by visiting your Account Page and clicking on the "Manage Gift Cards for NOOKbooks" link.

2. Shop for NOOKbooks

Shop for NOOKbooks by visiting our Barnes %26amp; Noble NOOKbooks Store on your desktop, nook, or mobile device. You can redeem Gift Cards, eGift Cards and Online Gift Certificates for NOOKbooks or single issues of eNewspapers or eMagazines; however, they cannot be used to purchase subscriptions to eNewspapers or eMagazines.

3. Redeem automatically at Checkout. Once you find a NOOKbook you want, click the "Buy Now" button. Any available Gift Card/Certificate balance will be redeemed first. If the amount of your Gift Card/Certificate does not completely cover your purchase, your default credit card will be charged for the remaining balance.
