Is there a speical way to write with a quil pen?

I bought a quil pen from barns and noble and when i write with it it makes lots of ink blobs. is there a certain way to hold or write with the quil?Is there a speical way to write with a quil pen?
Sounds like too much ink.



Using a quill pen is different from using our modern ball point pens. Especially the writing angle at which they work best, and the VERY LIGHT pressure needed so as NOT to damage the quill.



You might want to practice with an old fashioned fountain pen first.Is there a speical way to write with a quil pen?
Try an office supply store or search for a site selling calligraphy supplies.

Too much ink. Gently tap the quill to the side of the inkwell before writing with it. You'll have to go back to the well more often, but the results will be better.
