The Pact. This one is pretty sad, but powerful, and super intriguing in the second half especially. Little bit of a slow start would be my only criticism.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. Haven't read it yet, but it looks pretty good and got great reviews.

The Thief Lord. Haven't read this since maybe 5th grade, but I remember that I loved it. It's mysterious, kind of. Good book.

Sorry I can't think of more along the Sarah Dessen line. Maybe "Boy Meets Girl" by Meg Cabot, that one's pretty funny. I have no idea how old you are, so this is tough haha. Umm.. I've heard that "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" or something like that is good, but I typically don't read that type of book. I liked "This Lullaby" by Sarah Dessen (years ago) but I usually stick to the classics or more adult literature. Good luck finding some good books :)
The Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and the partial draft on SM's website for Midnight Sun)
The Mortal Instruments books (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass)
The Harry Potter books (I am NOT even going to try and name them all)
Hush, Hush
The Night World Series (Way too many to name, but they are in three volumes Night World vol. 1, 2, and 3)What is a good book to read?
If you like Sarah Dessen you'll probably like Elizabeth Scott books. Also, check out this site,

It's an ultimate reading list. It's awesome! What is a good book to read?
I recommend Catcher in the Rye. I LOVED it, and I am really picky when it comes to literature.
Teach Me, War and Peace, and Dante's Divine Comedy are all pretty good too.
I recommend Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut, Five Smooth Stones by Ann Fairbairn, and Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller.
They are from entirely different genres of writing, so hopefully there is something in there you will like! Happy reading!
I really like the Twilight books :)
